When our clients came to us with their remodel, they had a clear vision: they wanted a home that felt open, modern, and inviting. The existing layout, however, was holding them back. The kitchen was boxed in, the great room felt disconnected, and dated soffits broke up the space, making it feel smaller and more closed off.

Our design approach was simple but impactful—remove what was unnecessary, refine the details, and let the architecture breathe.

Opening the Space

The biggest transformation came from opening the kitchen to the great room. By removing walls that once divided the two, we created a seamless flow between the heart of the home and its main gathering space. This shift not only improved functionality but also brought in more natural light, making the entire area feel brighter and more spacious.

Eliminating the Soffits

The old soffits made the kitchen feel heavy and dated. By eliminating them, we were able to introduce clean lines and maximize the ceiling height. This instantly gave the room a fresh, modern look and allowed us to focus on the finishes and cabinetry without distractions.

A Modern, Connected Home

The end result is a space that feels timeless yet contemporary. The kitchen and great room now function as one cohesive environment, perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying a quiet night in. With the soffits gone and the layout reimagined, this home now reflects the modern lifestyle our clients were dreaming of.

At Stylescape Studio, we believe design should not only be beautiful but also intentional. Every detail of this remodel was chosen to eliminate clutter, highlight simplicity, and create a home that feels both elevated and livable.
