This is a very special charity project we were able to be a part of with Taylor Morrison. We designed a Student Center for Canyon State Academy in Queen Creek. This schools serves as a last attempt for trouble youth to be able to get an education and better themselves. The students live on campus full time. The student center, now dubbed the Rams Union, is allowed to be used those students who are on their way to success. We designed the space with students in mind. We needed make sure everything was functional and durable for them. The space before was a white box with used sofas and now we have a a pool table, pink pong table, outdoor shuffle board, a concession store, podium with screen for events and movies, lounge seating, gaming areas with systems, home work area with board games and brand new bathrooms. We designed the space without knowing where the items were going to come from and we were stunned by the generosity for our community. The majority of the labor and materials were donated by the community. We were able to give these students a real reward for all their hard work and to see the look on their faces the day it was opened to them it was beyond anything we could have imagined.
