In this project the client desired for a "timeless modern farmhouse". When discussing the desires for those "farmhouse qualities" we opted for a farmhouse sink, reclaimed floors, some ship-lap and a brick wall. The only things left from the original house was the a few walls and the slab. We added square footage and changed the facade of the house completely. We added the brick wall upon entry to add character to the home and to create a private office space for the home owner. We did a classic trim detail on the fireplace wall and added a reclaimed mantle to juxtapose with it. In the kitchen, we kept everything light and bright to make it feel expansive and lengthened the island past the footprint to allow for additional seating. The master bath has a parquet wood looking tile with marble accents for the classic reclaimed look. it also has the largest shower enough room for both people to stand. The guest bath has more personality with it's black and white floor and furniture looking cabinet. For their daughter's bathroom, we selected a pink poke-a-dot wallpaper that can grow with her. Overall the client was thrilled with house and all of the design decisions.
